Here at surflanzarote we understand that most families will have different holiday needs and will probably place just as much importance on the type of accomodation, its location and facilities as much as using a fully accredited surf school where safety is paramount. As a result we have put together a surfing holiday package that offers a wide choice of self catering accommodation that can be combined with a surf course tailored to your families needs at our fully accredited Canarian Surfing Federation (FCS) surf school. In addition we can also organise optional extras like car hire or airport transfers.

Our fully accredited Canarian Surfing Federation (FCS)  and ISA Oficial Surf School (ISA) prides itself on helping beginners have fun introduction to surfing in a safe coaching environment. All of the qualifed surf instructors have up to date life saving awards and are experienced with working with children. Our unique coaching system has been refined over 15 years and we keep safety paramount but never hold back your progression and always make learning fun. Our surf school uses the latest softboards which are specifically designed for first time surfers as they are they are safe and easier to use. The low intsructor to pupil ratio means that all the family will get the attention the need both on the beach and in the water. The coaching initially takes places on the beach and from there progresses into waist depth water learning how to catch and ride unbroken waves under the supervision and guidence of the surf instructors. It’s important to note that we can can for all levels of surfers so no matter what your families surfing ability we can tailor a course to suit your needs and help you all progress over the week. Children from 7 years upwards can join a course and all that we ask is that they have a reasonable level of fitness and can swim a minimum of 50m in open water.

We understand that not everyone in the family may want to surf, so we have chosen holiday accommodation that is well equipped and has outdoor space where the less active members of the group can chill out and soak up the sun. All properties are located within easy walking distance of the beach and local amenities. Our wide range of accommodation in Famara includes everything from low cost studios to standard bungalows to luxury detached bungalows with private pools. Our team has hand picked and visited all of the accommodation on offer and can provide detailed information about the excat location plus fixtures and fittings. Famara is a fantastic holiday destination, well away from mass tourism. The sweeping 6km sandy beach is never crowded and is set in the shadows of the spectacular Famara cliffs. For families with younger children, the harbour beach and small tidal pool offer fun places to swim and paddle. The location of Famara means it remains beautifully warm throughout the year but doesn’t get as stiflingly hot as other parts of the island. The fresh sea breeze keeps the temperature very pleasant even in the height of the summer. Caleta de Famara offers a handful of local restaurants and bars with something to suit most tastes and budgets. The village shops are great for fresh produce and supplies, but we do recommend hiring a car to make the most of the cheaper prices in the larger supermarkets. There are several surf shops in Famara which offer surf equipment rental for more experienced surfers in the group. Several of the bars and cafes in the village now offer free WiFi for anyone who needs to keep in touch with work or family back home.
